Huey Lewis isn't the only one who loves L.A. Apparently, the USGA does as well.
Los Angeles Country Club is in negotiations to host the 2023 U.S. Open, according to a report by the L.A. Times. The club's North Course would host the Los Angeles area's first U.S. Open since 1948, when Ben Hogan won at Riviera Country Club.
The club's 1,500 members received a letter Thursday apprising them of a coming vote about the possibility of hosting an Open after the Board of Directors voted Wednesday to move forward in negotiations with the USGA. That vote, according to the report, could happen as soon as October.

The proposed host North Course is the better of the two on the property, with the 7,236-yard George C. Thomas design renovated in 2010. It will also host the 2017 Walker Cup matches and was host to the 2013 Pac-12 championship tournament.
LACC is in a great part of town, just seconds from Beverly Hills and Rodeo Dr., flanked by UCLA on the other side. Oh yeah, the Playboy Mansion is just north of the club property as well.
The Open would also amount to a home game for new broadcast partner Fox Sports, which is based in Los Angeles.
